Language and Butterflies

So I have been compiling a list of words that I use with the patients on a regular basis at work. These are just basic words that are a necessary part of the medical field.  So far so good. But I have noticed that I tend to remember the word temporarily and then somehow it is immediately deleted from my memory within 5 minutes.  (It is as if the words self destruct for security purposes)  Recently though things have changed.   I love languages, always have, but there has always been a slight mental block when it came to Spanish. The quick-pace, the variety of words depending on the region etc.  But alas it has happened.  I felt a little peice of myself just open up and have noticed that my retention has improved drastically.  I don't know how or why but it is fabulous!  For the longest time there has been an endless supply of butterflies in my tummy.... I am quite sure that catepillars thought it was good place to form a cocoon and decided to camp out permanently....  This may not seem like anything special but I think I have discovered what makes languages stick...when you can put aside your nerves and your concerns and just listen, look, and learn...without worrying about how you sound how you look or what you are learning.  It seems so contradictory but it is working and I am thrilled!

Norco Assembly Hall Special Day Assembly

These are Photos from the Norco Assembly Hall in California where we had our Special Assembly day.  So beautiful to meet more and more of our brothers and sisters around the world.  Not to mention the opportunity to visit Southern California.
