Anniversary

Thought occurred to me last night that it was officially my 2 year anniversary of living here in El Paso :)  Time goes by so quickly doesn't it?!  Can hardly believe it has been 2 years already and Mom and Dad and Shayne have already been here a year and half almost.  I've got the travel bug I'll admit.  But what a joy this city is to come home to.  I've learned so much from living here, like what it means for children to be allowed to be children, for women to be treated as women, and family to be cherished as family should be.  I've learned that it is fine and dandy to wear bright red lipstick and to slick your hair back into a tight bun when you are having a bad hair day.  But then there's also nothing wrong with letting your hair fro as big as possible and to slip into a pair of beaten up cowboy boots.  It's all considered normal and beautiful in its own way.  And I am ever so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of such wonderful blends of culture.
